Sprout! Interview with Nicola Chatham
05 Apr 13
It's the beginning of the school year here in Australia and that
means one thing in Leonie Shanahan's life...
A
brand new year to transform the lives of kids and encourage them
to eat more fresh fruit & veggies. Her award-winning Edible
School Gardens program has influenced more kids on the coast than
I could point a bamboo pole at.
I love the work Leonie does. In fact, it was volunteering at one
of her school garden projects where I had my first experience
making a no-dig garden.
This week I share an interview with her, where we chat about her
exciting new Edible School Garden DVD project, how you can get
started with a school garden at YOUR kid's school, and the
surprising (& heartening) effects growing food has had on
children she's worked with.
This really is a good news story and shows what a difference we
can have when we begin where we are, in our own
community.
Have a fantastic day, Sprouter!
