TELEVISION’S Greek garden guru will be hitting the Coast next month to celebrate National Permaculture Day.
Costa Georgiadis – star of Costa’s Garden Odyssey on SBS – will open celebrations at Yandina Community Gardens on Sunday May 1.

Organiser and Coast gardening expert Leonie Shanahan said “He’ll also be visiting our very own edible gardens at Cooran and Eumundi State Schools.

“We are thrilled that Costa would take the time out of his extremely busy schedule to visit us and share with us his infectious character and passion for soil, embrassing nature’s cycles and seasons, and nurturing your soul with gardening.”

Ms Shanahan has been a key instigator of permaculture on the Coast and founded the successful Edible School Gardens project.
Permaculture day will also include presentations by Bob Cameron, from Rockcote, on pizza cob ovens, Murray Hallam of Practical Aquaponics, Elisabeth Fekonia, of Permaculture ReaFood, on sub-tropical plants, and Rosina Buckman on backyard chooks.

Gates open at 9.30am.

Everyone is welcome to attend.
